Job summary

Gotham Park seeks a strategic Director of Development to lead and grow the organization’s fundraising efforts amid a pivotal growth phase. You will drive the fundraising strategy, manage donor engagement, and work closely with the Co-Founder, President, and Board to secure seven- and eight-figure opportunities.

The role combines big-picture planning with hands-on execution—developing strategy, proposals, and donor materials, while ensuring strong follow-through across all fundraising activities

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive fundraising experience
• Proven success securing multiple-figure gifts
• Experience managing donor pipelines across annual, major, and leadership giving
• Strong writing and editing skills for proposals, reports, and donor communications
• Ability to track progress, analyze data, and inform strategy
• Collaborative, cross-functional team orientation
• Familiarity with New York City philanthropic landscape preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute fundraising strategy aligned with priorities
• Lead annual, major, and leadership gift programs and initiatives
• Build and manage donor engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Oversee institutional funding, reporting, and CRM/data workflows
• Partner with Board and senior leadership on fundraising strategy and donor engagement
• Supervise Grants Consultant and shape future development capacity
