CARE Communities is seeking a Director of Real Estate Development to expand and preserve affordable housing across Northern Colorado, including Fort Collins. The role leads projects from feasibility through completion and shapes development strategy.

Ideal candidates have deep experience in real estate development, with LIHTC, public financing, and full lifecycle expertise, and will collaborate with an established leadership team to advance impact in local communities.

• Experience in real estate development, ideally affordable or multifamily housing, with a strong understanding of LIHTC, public financing, and the full development lifecycle.

• Lead affordable housing development and preservation projects from feasibility and financing through construction and operations.
• Structure complex financing strategies, including LIHTC and public funding programs.
• Build and strengthen relationships with municipalities, lenders, investors, and community partners.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, risks, and external consultants.
• Provide strategic leadership while collaborating with an established leadership team.

I’m partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization looking for a Director of Real Estate Development to help expand and preserve affordable housing across Northern Colorado.

This is an opportunity to take the lead on meaningful projects that make a lasting impact in local communities, while helping shape development strategy and guide projects from initial concept

through completion.
