Reporting to the CEO, the Director will design and oversee HIP's fundraising strategies, ensuring support for core operating functions, programmatic initiatives, and regranting efforts, while serving as an external ambassador for HIP’s mission and values.
Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) is a transnational network of grantmakers committed to strengthening Latino communities across the Americas. HIP connects and convenes funders, nonprofits, researchers, and other leaders to identify emerging needs among Latinos as well as best practices for responsive and effective funding of social change. HIP pioneers new philanthropic models by leading collaborative initiatives and has provided grants and training to help build the capacity of more than 800 organizations and leaders.
The Director of Development will lead HIP’s fundraising team, focused on: growing and managing relationships with foundations, corporations, high-net worth individuals, and other donor constituency groups; designing and overseeing all fundraising strategies and processes; developing new tactics to prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors who support our core operating functions, programmatic initiatives, and regranting efforts; and serving as internal champion and external ambassador for HIP’s mission, values, and theory of change. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled fundraiser to support our work around migration, gender equity, civic engagement, Latinx leadership, Latinx entrepreneurship, racial justice, power-building, and more.
The Director of Development will report to the CEO and will supervise two senior development associates and a part-time coordinator. The Director will share funder relationships with the CEO and some program staff.
