Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Director of Development to lead strategy, management, and growth of key fundraising programs in support of Grady Health System. The role focuses on donor relations, stewardship, and representing Grady Health Foundation in the community as a leadership team member.

Responsibilities include building multi-channel major gifts, planning giving, endowment strategy, and guiding fundraising staff to maximize donor engagement and program impact.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Business Administration or Management.
• Five (5) or more years of job-related experience including program development / grant writing for nonprofit organizations.
• Experience building and managing major gifts and planned giving programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and execute strategies to build a multi-channel major gifts program (individual, corporate, foundation).
• Establish relationships with health system leaders to align donor priorities and ensure funds align with donor intent.
• Build a robust planned giving program and assist with endowment strategy development.
• Lead staff and ensure timely stewardship of all donors; represent the foundation in community settings.

Job Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for developing strategy, managing, and growing key fundraising programs in support of Grady Health System; building and maintaining relationships and ensuring effective stewardship of institutional and individual donors; representing the Grady Health Foundation in the community; and, contributing as a member of the Grady Health Foundation leadership team.

Strategy and Development (40%)

• Develop, manage, and execute strategies to build and maintain a multi-channel major gifts program - to include individual, corporate, and institutional/foundation donors.
• Establish relationships with health system leaders responsible for areas of donor interest to develop giving priorities and ensure that funds are used in a manner consistent with donor intent.
• Build and maintain a robust planned giving program and assist with the development of an endowment strategy.
• Ensure fundraising strategies focus on donor retention, increasing giving, and pipeline building.

Leadership (30%)

• Manage staff members responsible for carrying out all necessary functions of successful private and corporate foundation, individual giving, and planned giving strategies and ensure effective and timely stewardship of all donors.

Engagement and Advocacy (30%)

• Serve as a member of the Foundation leadership team.
• Serve as staff liaison for the Foundation Board Development Committee.
• Represent the foundation in the community in meetings and external events.

Qualifications:

• BS/A in Business Administration Management.
• Five (5) or more years of job-related experience including job related experience in program development / grant writing for non-profit organizations.
