Job summary

BILL is seeking a Director of Design to lead in-house design across brand, campaigns, web, and events. You’ll manage a multidisciplinary team, partner with marketing and product, and elevate the BILL brand with AI-enabled workflows and strong design systems.

You’ll report to the VP of Marketing and influence senior leadership while shipping high-impact creative work that differentiates BILL in the market.

Qualifications

10+ years in design with at least four years leading an in-house creative team.
Portfolio showing brand and campaign work with clear point of view.
Experience building and governing a brand design system in a fast-moving company.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team. Set the bar, run critiques, and cultivate top designers.
Set the creative vision for the BILL brand across campaigns, web, and events.
Redesign workflows to integrate AI while safeguarding quality and output.
Build video production into a weekly cadence, including staffing and agency use.
Own the brand design system, templates, and governance for production readiness.
Run the team end-to-end like an agency; manage intake, prioritization, and budgets.
Collaborate with Brand, Web, Product Design to keep the brand coherent.
Write briefs for major campaigns and present to senior leadership.
Hire, develop, and retain top design talent.
