Job summary

Brigit is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead a growing team focused on modeling key business problems, credit risk and payments. You will mentor data scientists, translate complex analyses into actionable insights for executives, and partner with product, engineering, and operations to drive a data-driven roadmap.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Data Science management with a team of >3.
• 5+ years of modeling/data science experience overall.
• 2+ years of experience at a consumer product company.
• Deep technical expertise in SQL and Python, with analytics and ML tools (dbt, Airflow, Spark, MLflow).
• Experience applying predictive modeling to credit risk assessment, churn prediction, loss and revenue forecasting is beneficial.
• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, distilling complex analysis into actionable insights.
• Passion for developing talent and data-driven business outcomes.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted coding and agentic tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex).

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of data scientists focused on modeling key business problems.
• Mentor team members building quantitative models in Python.
• Integrate data science capabilities with product, engineering and operations with a roadmap and backlog.
• Lead quarterly planning with business stakeholders to align direction.
• Advance AI-assisted development and agentic workflows with proper review and privacy standards.
• Collaborate with Modeling Engineer to optimize infrastructure for model research and deployment.
