Job summary

Brigit is seeking a Director of Data Science to scale and lead a growing team focused on modeling credit risk and payments. You will partner with product, engineering, and operations to build a roadmap and deliver high-impact analytics and ML solutions.

Strong leadership, storytelling, and hands-on coding with Python are essential. The role offers a competitive base salary with a 10% annual bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a dynamic startup environment in New York.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Data Science management with a team of 3+ people.
• 5+ years of modeling/data science experience overall.
• 2+ years at a consumer product company.
• Deep technical expertise in SQL and Python and ML tools.
• Experience applying predictive modeling to credit risk etc.
• Master's/PhD in quantitative field preferred.
• Strong communication to executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Managing and growing a team of data scientists focused on modeling key business problems.
• Mentoring team members in Python and quantitative modeling.
• Evangelizing DS capabilities and integrating with product/engineering/ops teams.
• Lead quarterly planning with business stakeholders.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with Modeling Engineer to optimize infrastructure for research and deployment.
