Job summary

Pittsford Central School District is seeking a Director of Data and Information Technology to lead the collection, management, analysis, reporting, governance support, and security of district data for students, staff, and operations. This role oversees the district’s student information systems, state/federal reporting, analytics, and data-informed decision support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in education, data analytics, information systems, instructional technology, statistics, computer science, or related field; SDA/SDL certification required.
• Experience with data management, analysis, reporting, and information systems in education or similarly complex organizations, including student information systems.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex information while applying data privacy, access-control, and information-security principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for data, analytics, and information-services functions aligned with instructional priorities and regulatory needs.
• Lead configuration and oversight of student information systems (e.g., enrollment, scheduling, grades, and reporting).
• Coordinate security, access, and data flows across departments; ensure data accuracy and timely submission for reporting.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and planning tools to support district-wide planning and improvement.
• Collaborate with BOCES, NYSED, vendors, and district staff to resolve reporting issues and data discrepancies.
