Job summary

Elastic seeks a Director of Corporate Development to shape and execute its inorganic growth strategy. You will lead M&A and strategic partnerships end-to-end—from sourcing and due diligence through negotiation, deal execution, and post-close integration—working with product, finance, and legal.

This high-impact, cross-functional role reports to the VP of Corporate Development and collaborates with executive leadership across product, finance, and legal.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, growth equity, or corporate development at a leading technology company.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills; deep experience with negotiation and deal structuring
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and business judgment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and concisely

  • Lead the entire M&A process, from sourcing potential deals to negotiating and closing transactions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to identify risks and evaluate synergies.
  • Develop financial models to project future cash flows and revenue impacts for potential acquisitions.
  • Analyze the historical financial performance of target companies to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Drive post-merger integration planning in coordination with functional stakeholders, ensuring deal value is captured.
  • Prepare and present materials for executive and board-level audiences

  • This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and business operations. This role reports directly to the VP of Corporate Development and works closely with executive leadership across product, finance, and legal
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments to identify suitable acquisition targets. Evaluate industry trends that influence the company’s growth strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather valuable market insights
  • Develop financial models to project future cash flows and revenue impacts for potential acquisitions. Analyze the historical financial performance of target companies to guide strategic decision-making
