Qualifications

  • Active CPA designation required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or related experience.
  • Public accounting experience desirable.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and lease accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting and reporting for assets, leases, debt, cash, equity transactions, derivatives, and other areas.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Manage corporate and shared services accounting reviews.
  • Research technical accounting guidance for complex transactions.
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Director of Corporate Accounting
Dallas, TX - 4 days in office
$185-195k + 25% bonus

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Corporate Accounting to lead corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities for a growing multi-location organization. This individual will play a key leadership role in maintaining accounting integrity, strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and partnering with executive leadership to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the accounting and reporting functions for fixed assets, leases (ASC 842), debt, cash, self-insurance programs, equity transactions, stock-based compensation, derivatives, and other complex accounting areas.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Manage accounting and financial review processes for corporate and shared service functions.
  • Research and apply technical accounting guidance related to complex transactions and emerging accounting standards.
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for executive leadership.
  • Develop, document, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Support and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Active CPA designation required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Prior public accounting experience, preferably with a national or Big 4 firm, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and lease accounting software preferred.
  • Prior experience with system implementations, process transformations, or ERP upgrades is a plus.
