Job summary

Cameron County is seeking a Construction Management Director who will oversee all building projects and ensure compliance with codes. You will develop plans, coordinate between architects, contractors, and county departments, and prepare cost estimates.

Must have a BS in construction management or related field and at least five years in construction management; strong knowledge of local, state, and federal codes; and excellent negotiation and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• Minimum five years of building construction or construction management experience.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates and initiates plans and specs for all projects.
• Reviews plans for accuracy and provides recommendations.
• Liaises between architects, contractors, engineers and the County.
• Works with County departments to develop projects and estimates.
• Prepares weekly/monthly progress reports and manages change orders.
• Reviews invoices for accuracy and presents for approval.
