Job summary

Elmington Construction seeks a seasoned Director of Procurement to lead purchasing and rebates across residential and commercial projects. You will align buying strategies with project plans, ensure price competitiveness, and collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and executives to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires 10+ years in construction purchasing, strong negotiating and leadership skills, and a deep understanding of blueprint reading and CSI estimating methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of purchasing experience in the construction industry.
• BS degree in a construction-related field preferred but not required with high experience.
• Proficient with blueprint reading and interpretation for all design disciplines.
• Proficient with CSI divisions 1–16 estimating techniques.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts with legal counsel where needed.
• Demonstrated track record as a team player and effective manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop purchasing and rebate programs and actively manage them.
• Provide oversight and guidance on purchasing to team members.
• Determine buyout strategy for trades with volatility post-final estimate.
• Set purchasing objectives, policies, and performance standards.
• Understand project specs/drawings and develop supplier pricing scopes.
• Communicate with project teams to drive process improvements.
