Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. in Dallas seeks a Director Construction to lead the capital projects portfolio across showrooms, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and corporate locations.

The role sets priorities, directs execution, and builds high-performing teams to deliver safe, cost-effective projects. You will partner with senior leaders to align initiatives with business objectives, manage budgets and risk, and report performance to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 10+ years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 5+ years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction project portfolio by establishing priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Construction Managers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Establish project management standards, governance, reporting, and performance measures that promote consistent execution across all construction projects.
• Partner with senior leaders to develop capital plans, evaluate project priorities, and align construction initiatives with operational needs and long-term facility strategies.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, risk management, and resource planning while providing executive-level updates on project performance, financial results, and emerging issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors to support successful project delivery and informed decision-making.
• Ensure construction activities comply with company standards, safety requirements, building codes, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations while minimizing operational disruption.
• Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, vendor performance, project delivery methods, and team capabilities to increase efficiency and strengthen project outcomes.
• Performs other duties as needed.
