Job summary

Haskel Thompson & Associates, LLC - Executive Recruiters is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead travel center new builds and remodels from concept through completion. Applicants should bring at least 10 years of proven PM experience in convenience and fuel construction, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

You will coordinate engineers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget while upholding safety

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven experience as a construction project manager with increasing responsibilities.
• Proven background in convenience and fuel construction.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Proficient in MS Office; excellent with construction/project management software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to determine the specifications of the project
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors
• Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
• Plan and execute construction operations to ensure deadlines will be met
• Acquire equipment and material on a project basis
• Hire contractors and allocate responsibilities for assigned projects
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports to keep stakeholders informed
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
• Have complete oversight of construction projects from conceptualization to finished build

Job description

This position must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. In addition, the successful candidate should have experience in commercial project management. This role will work in conjunction with the Real Estate department, and senior leaders to plan, permit and develop project pertaining to Travel Center new builds and remodels. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to the project specific requirements and within the project budget.
