Job summary

City of Enid seeks a planning-focused leader to guide the Community Development Department, overseeing Planning, Code Enforcement, and CDBG programs. The role requires guiding multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating with the City Commission and boards, and ensuring compliance with building codes and related regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least five years of progressive experience, and strong public-relations skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressive experience and/or training.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, planning, and oversight to City of Enid Community Development Department.
• Lead groups on land use and development, coordinate with boards and city staff.
• Attend civic events, manage building codes compliance, and oversee CDBG programs.
• Prepare budgets, bids, contracts, and oversee procurement.
• Supervise staff, evaluate performance, and implement policy changes.
