Job summary

Bristol Hospice is seeking a Director of Community Development in the Phoenix area to lead sales and marketing efforts, cultivate key referral relationships, and inspire a high-performing team. The role requires strategic planning, budget oversight, and strong negotiation with payers to optimize reimbursements and growth.

Ideal candidates will have hospice experience, travel willingness, and a proven ability to manage a fast-paced sales organization while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years hospice experience preferred.
• Travel throughout Bristol’s hospice service areas.
• Supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
• Market aggressively and engage customers and community.
• Knowledge of corporate business management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and PR.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license with insured vehicle.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.

Responsibilities

• Direct all daily sales and marketing operations and oversee the department.
• Negotiate service contracts with payers and managed care organizations.
• Assist ED with budgeted volume projections and allocations.
• Develop a comprehensive marketing plan to meet projections.
• Lead promotional initiatives to achieve budgets.
• Build relationships with referral and payer sources.
• Recruit, select, and manage sales & marketing staff.
• Monitor costs and resource allocation within budget.
