Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Walnut Creek, CA, seeks a Director of Community Development to lead our sales and marketing efforts for hospice services. You will drive relationships with referral sources and payers, oversee a high-performing team, and expand our community reach while delivering compassionate care.

The role requires travel across Bristol’s service areas, strong leadership, and expertise in marketing and negotiations to maximize revenue and patient access.

Qualifications

• Three years of hospice experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel throughout Bristol’s hospice service areas.
• Ability to supervise professional and administrative personnel.
• Ability to market aggressively and engage with customers and the community.
• Knowledge of corporate business management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, public relations, and math skills.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily sales and marketing operations and oversee initiatives.
• Negotiate service contracts with managed care, government, and other payers.
• Assist in budgeting and resource allocations for the sales/marketing area.
• Develop comprehensive marketing plans to meet volume projections.
• Establish relationships with referral and payer sources.
• Recruit, orient, and manage the sales/marketing team.
• Monitor market knowledge and customer perceptions of Bristol Hospice.
• Provide leadership in strategic planning and service expansion.
