Job summary

Bristol Hospice is seeking a Director of Community Development to lead our sales and marketing efforts, build impactful relationships with referral sources, and inspire a high-performing team. The role supports compassionate care across Bristol’s hospice services and requires strong negotiation and leadership skills.

You will oversee marketing initiatives, strategic planning, and budgeting while traveling within Bristol’s service areas to grow access to care.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in a hospice setting preferred.
• Must be willing to travel throughout Bristol’s hospice service areas.
• Ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
• Ability to market aggressively and negotiate with customers and community.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, public relations, problem solving, and math skills.
• Flexibility to schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle.
• Ability to work autonomously and maintain strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily sales and marketing operations and oversee the development and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives.
• Negotiate service pricing with providers within approved parameters.
• Assist in budget development and resource allocation for the sales/marketing department.
• Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, payers, and customers.
• Provide leadership in strategic planning to identify service opportunities and unmet needs.
• Monitor markets, competitors, and payer landscapes to inform strategy.
