Job summary

The City of Lynnwood seeks a Manager of Communications and Public Affairs to guide external and internal communications for the City. This leadership role oversees marketing strategies, public engagement, and city messaging, and may supervise communications staff within the Mayor’s Executive Office.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
Five or more years of government or community relations experience including spokesperson responsibilities.
Must meet training levels required by FEMA and DHS for emergency management.
Valid Washington State Driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Serve as strategic communications advisor to the Mayor, Executive Office, and Directors on city projects and initiatives.
Develop and implement city-wide communications strategies for large projects, incidents, and emergencies.
Advise on public engagement tools and inclusive outreach to Lynnwood's diverse community.
