Job summary

Umpqua Community College seeks a dynamic leader to direct Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search programs in Douglas County. The role supports 665 students across local middle and high schools, coordinating staff, partners, and resources to expand college access and career readiness.

The position focuses on program development, grant management, and collaboration with schools and community organizations to sustain impactful educational experiences for low-income, first‑generation students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, behavioral and/or social science or related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfilling the UB/ETS missions and objectives as described in each grant.
• Developing, directing and evaluating the UB/ETS projects according to federal regulations and grant award requirements.
• Representing the programs for UCC, local schools, public media, community organizations, and other colleges
• Supervising student identification, eligibility verification, selection, assessment of progress, and tracking processes.
• Recruiting and recommending qualified ETS and UB personnel for hiring, training staff as needed, and evaluating for retention or dismissal.
