Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL seeks a Director of Coding to lead enterprise coding operations across HB and PB services, driving accuracy of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding and QA. You will oversee audit readiness and pre-bill edits, reducing DNFC/DNFB risks and improving claim quality.

The role partners with CDI, HIM, Revenue Integrity, Billing, IT, and clinical leaders to standardize workflows, optimize encoder/CAC capabilities, and ensure performance transparency across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in HIM/related field is required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years in healthcare coding/HIM/revenue cycle.
• 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience with HB and PB coding in large health systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise coding operations across HB and PB services.
• Ensure accurate and timely ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding and abstraction.
• Drive coding quality governance, audit readiness, and pre-bill hold management.
• Collaborate with CDI, HIM, Billing, Revenue Integrity, IT and clinical leaders to standardize workflows.
• Optimize encoder/CAC capabilities and drive performance transparency.
