Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. This 12-month, full-time non-tenure track role leads clinical education, builds partnerships with sites, and supports student placements and assessment in a collaborative academic setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining accreditation, advancing curriculum, and mentoring faculty and clinical partners. A DPT or eligible terminal degree and NC PT licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for licensure as a PT in NC and maintain active licensure.
• Minimum 3 years’ licensed PT experience.
• Earned DPT or terminal degree; evidence of progress toward doctoral-level prep.
• Experience with CAPTE standards and accreditation processes.
• Leadership in clinical education programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the clinical education component of the DPT program.
• Coordinate clinical learning experiences and manage partnerships with sites.
• Place and support students during clinical rotations; assess performance.
• Ensure accreditation compliance and program quality; drive continuous improvement.
• Support curriculum development and faculty development in clinical education.
