Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks an experienced Director of Clinical Education for its Doctor of Physical Therapy program. This full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position will begin Spring 2027 and lead the clinical education component across affiliated sites, ensuring high-quality student experiences and program accreditation.

Qualifications

• Must hold, or be eligible for, licensure as a physical therapist in the State of North Carolina and maintain active licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist.
• Earned Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or be a licensed PT with a terminal degree (e.g., tDPT, PhD, DSc, EdD).
• Note: ABD applicants may apply and complete terminal degree prior to AFC submission in 2030.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the clinical education component of the DPT program.
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate clinical learning experiences.
• Manage partnerships with clinical education sites and place and support students during clinical rotations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the program and clinical partners.
• Assess student performance and maintain accreditation and compliance requirements.
