Job summary

Capstone seeks a Director of Client Advisory Services to lead the CAS department, including bookkeeping, payroll, and outsourced CFO services. You will drive strategy, foster client relationships, and ensure excellent service delivery.

You will oversee budgeting, pricing decisions, and KPIs, while mentoring a high-performing team and aligning CAS initiatives with the firm’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in client advisory services, public accounting, or related fields.
• 3+ years in a leadership role (Manager level or higher).
• Proven expertise in managing and scaling a CAS business, including bookkeeping, payroll, and outsourced CFO services.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting, and compliance standards.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools (QuickBooks, Xero, payroll systems).

Responsibilities

• Lead marketing and growth initiatives for CAS through new client acquisition.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the organization’s goals.
• Oversee daily operations of the CAS, bookkeeping, and payroll teams.
• Set objectives for the CAS, bookkeeping, and payroll teams.
• Mentor staff and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Identify and support professional development opportunities for team members.
• Oversee onboarding and retention of clients with high-value services.
• Monitor budget, profitability, and KPIs for the department.
