Job summary

The Jewish Federation Bay Area seeks a Director, Civic Engagement and Advocacy to lead local antisemitism response coordination, policy advocacy, and civic engagement across K-12, higher education, workplaces, healthcare, tech, and culture.

Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer, the role collaborates with lay leaders and partners to align regional efforts, coordinate security and education initiatives, and drive impact in the Bay Area and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• 10+ years in community relations, government affairs, civic advocacy, or related field.
• 3–5 years in leadership roles in nonprofit or civic organizations.
• Experience with Jewish communal systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop local and regional strategies aligned with the national Frontline initiative.
• Coordinate with the Bay Area Lay Leaders Task Force on Antisemitism for regional strategy and reports.
• Build and align partner networks across K-12, higher education, workplaces, healthcare, tech, and arts/culture.
• Monitor Bay Area legislation and provide actionable updates to leadership.
• Represent the Federation in coalitions, task forces, and civic missions.
