Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University seeks a Director of Career Services for the INI to lead strategic career development programs and employer relations across Pittsburgh and CMU‑SV. The role requires collaborating with students, faculty, and industry partners to design impactful services and events that advance graduate career outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership of a team, partnerships with international students, and travel to CMU‑SV, with a hybrid work schedule based in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a career counseling role.
• Experience in engineering, recruiting or higher education career services leadership is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with graduate and international students in a student services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic vision and day‑to‑day execution of career readiness and professional development programs.
• Oversee employer relations and partnerships across INI graduate programs.
• Recruit, hire, train and manage the INI team of student Peer Career Consultants.
• Cultivate relationships with industry partners, alumni, and faculty to enhance opportunities.
• Develop and implement career services strategies across Pittsburgh and CMU‑SV locations.
• Coordinate with CMU‑SV Career Services to ensure consistent, high‑touch support for bi‑coastal students.
