Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking leadership for district capital projects to plan, coordinate, and direct initiatives from identification through closeout. You will oversee facility planners, construction managers, and staff to ensure schedules, costs, and specifications meet district needs.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, with Colorado residency expected. Lead vendor coordination with architects and contractors, influence long-range capital plans, and serve as a liaison among administrators,

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors Minimum.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Manages staff performing facility assessments for existing and future capital projects/needs with required scopes of work, cost estimates, and prioritization for capital reinvestment and new construction projects for the annual Master Capital Plan
• Oversees day-to-day operations for the team including directing, managing, mentoring, training, grievance handling, performance evaluations, discipline and terminations for several professional and technical District staff
• Responsible for all qualified vendor architects, consultants and contractors performing work for the District necessary for the design, construction, construction management and planning activities for the capital program, including the bond program
• Assists in the development and maintenance of long-range capital plans for District facilities and necessary capital expenditures for new construction and capital reinvestment
• Acts as liaison between the District, school site administrators, parents and staff, architects and contractors to assure that the authorized projects are accomplished in accordance with District policies and procedures
