Job summary

Lindenwood University is seeking a Director of Operations, Event Management Services in a full-time capacity. The role oversees planning, budgeting, and execution of internal and external university events, leading teams of event planners and negotiations with vendors to maximize ROI.

The position reports to the Senior Vice President, Operations; supervises multiple event roles and partners with marketing to promote key events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent
• Ten years of experience in event management or collegiate environment preferred
• Prior management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops event strategies aligned with university goals and ROI
• Reviews and negotiates facility rental contracts and ensures documentation for legal review
• Creates, manages, and reconciles multi-event budgets including invoices
• Negotiates pricing with vendors to maximize ROI
• Recruits, trains, supervises and mentors event staff; sets performance metrics
• Oversees on-site event operations and run-of-show timelines
• Analyzes performance metrics and reports on profitability of events
