A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Business Systems & Technology to lead technology strategy, business applications, and IT operations. This leader will partner closely with senior leadership across operations, finance, HR, and manufacturing.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution. The ideal candidate can establish direction while staying close enough to projects and systems to solve problems. This person will also play a critical role in building and developing the IT organization as the business continues to grow.
- Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, priorities, and technology roadmap
- Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs and translate them into technology solutions
- Oversee ERP, business applications, and manufacturing-related systems
- Lead technology projects involving implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements
- Establish project priorities based on business needs, resources, risks, and expected impact
- Build, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing IT team
- Determine future staffing and technology resource requirements
- Own IT budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning
- Partner with infrastructure and technical teams to maintain reliable technology services
- Improve technology-supported workflows across manufacturing and corporate functions
- Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for modernization
- Support technology initiatives across multiple business locations
- Develop relationships with senior leaders and serve as a trusted technology partner
- Remain hands‑on enough to understand workflows, troubleshoot challenges, and move critical initiatives forward

- 10+ years of progressive Information Technology experience
- Meaningful experience leading IT teams, functions, or major technology programs
- Strong background with ERP or enterprise business applications
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, Infor, Epicor, QAD, IFS, or comparable ERP platforms
- Strong understanding of business processes and operational workflows
- Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions
- Demonstrated success leading IT projects and managing competing priorities
- Experience hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining technology professionals
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels
- Strong communication and influencing abilities with senior business leaders
- Ability to work effectively across both technical and nontechnical teams
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or another complex operational environment
- SAP or SAP S/4HANA experience
- ERP implementation, migration, or transformation experience
- Manufacturing systems or MES experience
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or business units
- Global or international IT exposure
- Experience building, rebuilding, or scaling an IT organization
- Experience with Lean or continuous‑improvement environments
