Summary

HII-Mission Technologies seeks a motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to foster strategic growth within the Intelligence Community market. The successful candidate will lead long-term campaigns to achieve growth objectives, focusing on targeted customers within the Intelligence Community. This role requires a deep understanding of defense budgets, acquisition processes, key influencers, technology trends, and spending forecasts to identify, qualify, and capture opportunities. Building and nurturing relationships that impact long-term growth is essential.

This position offers remote or hybrid work flexibility, reporting directly to the Mission Technologies Chief Growth Officer.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement strategic campaigns targeting Intelligence Community customers, aligning opportunities with Mission Technologies’ portfolio and growth strategy.
  • Conduct opportunity assessments, including business case analysis and competitive positioning, based on customer needs and capabilities.
  • Prepare and present qualification and pursuit recommendations for executive review.
  • Represent HII to assigned Intelligence Community clients, gather program intelligence, and cultivate relationships through direct engagement and industry events.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare white papers, presentations, and RFI responses to enhance company positioning.
  • Contribute insights to strategic planning, including market analysis, customer mission understanding, and competitive positioning.
  • Support congressional and DoD engagements, developing messaging for lawmakers, defense leaders, and customers.
  • Present market and opportunity assessments to HII’s CEO and Board as needed.

What you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 8+ years, or High School diploma with 14+ years.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the Intelligence Community market, working on military tech, weapons, sensors, intelligence systems, cybersecurity, or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting procedures.
  • 5+ years of successful business development in the U.S. Defense Industry, demonstrating growth and increased market share.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and presenting to executives.
  • Prior Intelligence Community Blue or Green badge clearance.

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • DAWIA Level II certification or higher.
  • At least 3 years of business development within the Intelligence Community.
  • Proposal writing experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current Blue or Green badge preferred.
