Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development leader to identify external growth opportunities, structure and execute transactions, and drive diligence across therapeutic programs from preclinical through clinical stages.

The role requires strong financial and analytical skills, proven ability to present partnerships to senior leadership, and a track record of navigating complex, matrix organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech.
  • Record of presenting partnership opportunities to senior management.
  • Ability to build rapport with therapeutic and functional area leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills for financial evaluations.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead due diligence and deal negotiation.
  • Ability to identify/prioritize risks across functions and frame decisions for senior leadership.
  • Experience navigating internal dynamics; matrix organization experience preferred.

  • Contribute to strategy planning for financial investment trade-off decisions.

Physical Requirements
  • 5–10% overnight travel.
Benefits/Compensation
  • Base compensation range: $187,000–$279,000; eligible for company bonus and long-term incentive compensation and/or company vehicles (role-dependent).
