Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Business Development professional to identify and evaluate licensing opportunities in the biopharmaceutical space. You will lead due diligence, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive deal execution from discovery through commercialization.

The role requires strong scientific judgment, deal negotiation skills, and travel up to 25%. You will interface with R&D, Legal, IP, and Finance to advance partnerships that expand the公司的 pipeline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in neuroscience, endocrinology, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology or related life sciences.
  • 3+ years of Business Development experience within a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Prior experience in drug discovery and/or R&D.
  • Experience sourcing, evaluating, and diligence of preclinical and clinical-stage assets.
  • Proven track record leading or heavily contributing to at least 3 end-to-end licensing transactions (include deal sheet).
  • Experience with in-licensing and/or out-licensing deals.
  • Strong negotiation experience, including term sheets, licensing agreements, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience attending and sourcing opportunities through major industry conferences such as BIO and J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.
  • Ability to assess scientific data, competitive landscapes, and IP.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

  • Manages projects regarding business development transactions from early development through commercialization.
  • Leads cross-functional internal and external project teams and meets predefined objectives and timelines.
  • Leads and assists with due diligence on potential business development opportunities, including product and technology assessment.
  • Leads valuation work on potential business development opportunities.
  • Monitors industry trends, companies, technologies and therapeutic areas relevant to the company.
  • Partners with Research and Development to determine priority external opportunities.
  • Coordinates internal and external diligence team meetings.
  • Develops and reviews contracts with Legal, IP, and Finance teams.
  • Coordinates the company's efforts at partnering conferences.
  • Outreaches to potential collaborators including academic centers and prospective corporate partners.
  • Assists with background research on targets, therapeutic areas, companies, and competitive landscapes.
  • Works with vendors, investment banks or other third-party consultants.
  • Creates and reviews BD presentations.
  • Assists in building and maintaining BD team infrastructure.
  • Ensures interactions are compliant with policies and regulations.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel for efficient operation of the function.

Job description

Supports Business Development activities through identification, scientific evaluation, and analysis of potential licensing opportunities and partnerships in the biopharmaceutical space. Conducts comprehensive search and evaluation activities and generates competitive landscapes focused on identifying promising therapeutic assets and technologies to expand the company's pipeline. Performs detailed scientific assessment of opportunities, including analysis of mechanism of action, preclinical/clinical data, and therapeutic/market potential. Maintains deep scientific understanding of current and future trends in therapeutic innovations, with particular focus on emerging technologies and treatment modalities. Participates in due diligence activities, including review of scientific documentation and coordination with subject matter experts. Contributes to the development of business cases and leads deal execution processes with a strong demonstration of business, IP, and legal comprehension. Assists in the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and presentations for licensing opportunities, working cross-functionally with internal teams to advance business development objectives.

Must haves
