Job description

Credico is a global leader specializing in brokering direct sales services, marketing, and digital acquisition. With operations in the US, Canada, UK and South Africa, our clients include both Fortune 500 and mid-market companies, as well as many of the world’s largest non-profit organizations.

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Business Development to lead new client acquisition efforts and build high-impact business partnerships. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong sales track record, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to influence executive decision-makers. The Director will work cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, close deals, and support the execution of direct sales ventures across diverse industries.

This is a remote, field-based position, with regular travel expected up to 75% to meet prospects, attend business meetings, and visit our Chicago headquarters several times per year. While the role is remote, we prefer candidates based in Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities with prospective clients across a variety of industries.
  • Build and manage a strategic sales pipeline, from lead generation to signed contracts.
  • Represent Credico in meetings, presentations, and field engagements to promote our solutions and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (i.e. Client Services, Marketing) to develop pitches, proposals, and onboarding strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients by understanding their needs and aligning them with Credico’s offerings.
  • Analyze market trends, client feedback, and performance data to inform strategy and improve sales processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members in business development skills and client engagement techniques.
  • Travel frequently (up to 75%) to support field-based prospecting and attend meetings at the Chicago HQ.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or direct sales.
  • Proven ability to execute sales strategies, generate revenue, close deals, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Strong project management, operational, organizational, and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Experience with CRMs (i.e. Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales reporting tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field (MBA a plus).
  • Self-starter with high energy, strong work ethic, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working remotely and traveling frequently to meet business needs.
