Job summary

TAE Power Solutions, LLC seeks a Director of Product Engineering for energy storage (BESS) to own end-to-end architecture, validation, and manufacturing readiness across contract manufacturers and internal teams.

This hands-on technical leadership role requires deep BESS expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, supply chain and quality, and a proven track record bringing complex hardware from concept to large-scale production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product engineering for BESS, power electronics or electrification systems.
• Direct experience with large-scale BESS, grid services, or data center apps.
• Hands-on with UL certifications including system-level compliance.
• Strong system-architecture, thermal design, and validation testing.
• Proven track record delivering hardware from concept to production.
• Experience leading value engineering for complex hardware systems.
• Ability to balance design, certification constraints and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Define and own product-level system architecture for BESS units and roadmap.
• Translate market needs into clear specifications and targets.
• Drive DFM and DfR practices across development and manufacturing.
• Lead UL certification efforts including scope, tests, and audits.
• Supervise CM development, tooling, process design, and ramp-up.
• Collaborate with Controls, Project Engineering, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales.
• Mentor managers and engineers toward disciplined, execution-focused design thinking.
