Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating Program Implementation: Leading the implementation of programs designed to enhance IEP services.
  • Behavioral Expertise: Demonstrating a strong understanding of human behavior and child development.
  • Program Coordination and Management: Coordinating programs to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking student progress and evaluating the effectiveness of programs in improving student experiences and outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all program activities and services adhere to the regulations set forth by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and align with the principles of the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Strong Special Education Background: Extensive experience working in the field of special education, particularly with children and adolescents who have autism and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Program Coordination and Management Experience: Proven experience in coordinating and managing programs, likely within an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Knowledge of Regulations and Compliance: A thorough understanding of MSDE regulations, special education compliance requirements, and the IEP process.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree and current Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate in Special Education are required
  • Advanced certification preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse disciplines and individuals
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in all aspects of the special education IEP Team process
  • BCBA, Psy.D., or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW – C or LCPC) preferred
