Job summary

DCMHMR seeks a Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead intake, consumer services, and the substance use program. You will develop policies, monitor performance, and ensure compliant, high-quality care across departments within a LMHA framework.

You must be LPHA-licensed with supervision experience; min 1 year supervisory background and 5 years direct SPMI care preferred. Strong leadership and trauma-informed practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as LPHA in Texas.
• At least 1 year of formal supervisory experience in mental health.
• Five years of direct care with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness preferred.
• Three years in psychopharmacology and co-morbidity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake, consumer services, and substance use operations.
• Lead program planning, policy development, and QM/UM initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with laws and data management requirements.
• Provide monthly supervision and performance evaluations.
• Maintain on-call availability and urgent response for staff.
