Job summary

Northwest Human Services, Inc. seeks a Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead outpatient mental health operations and crisis programs. You will integrate behavioral health into primary care, oversee three service areas, and drive quality, compliance, and staff development.

The role requires extensive leadership experience, clinical judgment, and a passion for trauma-informed, equitable care within a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field and active licensure in Oregon.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical behavioral health experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership of an outpatient behavioral health program.
• Experience leading outpatient mental health services with focus on clinical quality, compliance, billing, and access.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for three key service areas: Mental Health Counseling, Integrated Behavioral Health in Primary Care, and Crisis Hotline/988.
• Use data, KPIs, audits, and dashboards to support decision making and continuous improvement.
• Oversee fiscal stewardship including budget oversight, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Lead and develop behavioral health leaders, clinicians, and program staff, promoting transparency and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA/FQHC expectations, and regulatory standards.
