Job summary

Nemacolin seeks a Director of Banquets to lead all banquet operations, ensuring flawless service and memorable guest experiences. You will coach leaders, align with culinary and resort teams, and drive financial performance while maintaining Forbes/AAA standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in hospitality or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of management experience in food and beverage, restaurant, outlet, or banquet operations
  • Luxury hospitality experience preferred, including Forbes Four-Star or Five-Star environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be at least 18 and fluent in English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (standing, bending, lifting 5–30 pounds)

As Director of Banquets, you will lead the people and operations behind exceptional banquet experiences across the resort, setting the standard for service while building an engaged team, strengthening collaboration, and driving financial performance. What You Can Expect
  • Lead day-to-day banquet operations, maintaining a visible presence and ensuring service, presentation, timing, and execution consistently meet established standards
  • Partner closely with the executive banquet chef and Food & Beverage Department leaders to align service and culinary execution, address operational needs, and continuously strengthen the guest experience
  • Lead, coach, and develop banquet leaders and associates, fostering engagement, accountability, professional growth, and strong associate retention
  • Oversee staffing and scheduling based on event and business needs, approve management schedules, and ensure accurate and timely payroll
  • Monitor financial performance, review operating results, respond to opportunities or variances, and contribute to annual budget development and achievement of financial goals
  • Champion guest satisfaction and service recovery, responding promptly to concerns while reinforcing Forbes and AAA standards and Nemacolin service expectations
  • Ensure required operational, food safety, alcohol service, leadership, and other applicable training and compliance standards are maintained, including RAMP, ServSafe, and knife and blade requirements
  • Communicate departmental and resort priorities, participate in required meetings, and collaborate across the resort to support successful events and broader business needs

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across front- and back-of-house teams and with guests, associates, and leaders at all levels
  • Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when managing confidential or sensitive information
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in hospitality or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of management experience in food and beverage, restaurant, outlet, or banquet operations required, with banquet leadership experience preferred
  • Luxury hospitality experience preferred, including experience in a Forbes Four-Star or Five-Star environment
  • Demonstrated record of exceptional guest service, associate development, and team retention
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to effectively use systems and equipment required for the role
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to communicate fluently in English and perform basic mathematical functions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business and event needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged standing and regularly bending, kneeling, and climbing, as well as lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying 5 to 30 pounds
