Job summary

Drake University is seeking a Director of Equipment Operations to oversee the athletic department's equipment room for 18 NCAA DI programs. You will lead procurement, inventory, disbursement, and maintenance, coordinating with coaches on apparel and gear, and preparing budget recommendations.

The role requires strong organization and communication, with leadership of two full-time assistants and student staff. Experience in NCAA rules and equipment operations is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in equipment operations.
• NCAA Division I athletics program or professional sports team experience preferred.
• AEMA certification preferred.
• Experience with equipment purchasing, distribution, collection, and laundering.
• Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment room operations with coaches to purchase, inventory, and maintain apparel and gear.
• Ensure all teams have proper apparel and gear for practice and competition.
• Prepare budgetary recommendations and monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of funds.
• Coordinate athletics laundry and uniform repair.
• Supervise two full-time assistants and student staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
