Job summary

William Paterson University is seeking a Director of Annual Giving in Wayne, NJ to lead strategy, staff, and donor engagement. Reporting to the Assistant VP, you will design multi-faceted campaigns, set revenue goals, and ensure CASE standards.

You will analyze donor data, build reports and dashboards, cultivate a broad Tri-State donor pipeline, and supervise two staff. The role requires strong communication, collaboration with Alumni Engagement, and oversight of budgets and vendor contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of fundraising and planning experience, with data analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication; networking and presentation skills.
• Experience with CASE standards and reporting; CASE credential preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and data visualization; familiarity with CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements Annual Giving strategies to meet fundraising goals.
• Analyzes donor data and trends to inform strategy and reporting.
• Oversees channels: direct mail, email, digital/social media, text-to-give, and crowdfunding.
• Manages a Tri-State donor portfolio and secures gifts at annual fund leadership levels.
• Leads two direct reports and coordinates with Alumni Engagement.
• Oversees department budget and contracts with vendors.
• Serves on university committees and cross-campus initiatives.
