Job summary

Williamson County is seeking a Shelter Programs Manager who reports to the Director of Animal Services and oversees adoption, volunteer, foster, marketing, community programs, fundraising, and transport to drive outcomes and maintain a high save rate.

The role requires leadership of Adoption Specialists and staff, collaboration with operations, and ensuring compliance with shelter policies, while engaging with the community and managing budget and communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with five years of management experience in animal welfare or related field.
• Experience in event planning and staff supervision.
• Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the flow of animals to promote outcomes and reduce length of stay.
• Hire, schedule, promote, discipline, and terminate direct staff.
• Direct work and provide feedback, evaluations, and training for Adoption Specialists and volunteers.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager on animal transports.
• Oversee shelter messaging and community outreach.
