Job summary

Audible in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Director of Software Development for the Android team to lead cross‑functional delivery, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture that scales to millions of listeners.

You will own full lifecycle delivery across Audible and Amazon collaborations, improve delivery quality in an agile environment, and partner closely with product management to ship impactful Android experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting systems.
• 8+ years leading multi-tier web service development.
• Knowledge of lifecycle practices: coding, reviews, source control, builds, testing, live site ops.
• Experience partnering with product/program management.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead full life cycle delivery of cross functional projects spanning teams across Audible and Amazon.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that wows our community and inspires our peers.
• Constantly strive to raise the bar on delivery performance and quality in a fast agile environment.
• Work directly with a team of engineers to help them grow their skills, coach them to scale their abilities and drive development and operational excellence in Android and apps.
