Job summary

Audible seeks a Software Development Engineer III to define, design, and refine the Android tech that serves millions of listeners. You will build and maintain components, collaborate across teams, and ensure scalable, high-quality software in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You will mentor engineers, participate in interviews, and help drive architectural decisions while advancing the Android product for a global audience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for Audible’s Android platform.
• Identify and resolve software defects through code review, logs, metrics, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Write maintainable and scalable code as part of an agile engineering team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software.
• Apply CS, engineering, and analysis to solve moderate-scale problems.
• Enhance testability, OE, and documentation for owned components.
• Handle data classification, storage, and management per company policies.
• Participate in interview process and mentor fellow engineers.
