Job summary

Strive Recovery Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Director of Alumni Experience to build a robust alumni program from the ground up. You will forge trusted connections with alumni, guide them to meetings, sober supports, and sponsors, and maintain ongoing outreach after discharge.

Qualifications

• Experience in recovery services or behavioral health settings is required.
• 2-3+ years in recovery services, behavioral health, peer support, or alumni programming.
• Ability to plan and execute events and manage calendars and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with alumni before discharge and maintain connection after leaving treatment.
• Serve as the first contact for alumni in crisis and connect to meetings, supports, and sponsors.
• Regular follow-ups to provide ongoing encouragement and accountability.
• Create and organize alumni events and activities (coffee socials, dinners, milestones, sober outings).
• Develop partnerships with community organizations to expand support options.
• Own the alumni calendar, budget, and alumni records with diligent follow-through.
• Know when to escalate to clinical teams and maintain professional boundaries.

Recovery doesn't end at discharge. Neither should the relationship.

The day someone walks out of treatment is one of the most hopeful days of their life, and one of the most dangerous. Who's there on day 31? Day 90? The night it gets hard?

At Strive Recovery of Fort Wayne, the answer is going to be you. We're hiring our first Director of Alumni Experience, and you'll build the program from the ground up.

This is not an events job. It's a lifeline job.

What you'll do:

• Build trust with clients before discharge, so the alumni community already feels like home when they leave
• Be the first call when an alumnus is struggling, and connect them to the right meetings, sober supports, and sponsors
• Check in consistently, because someone noticing is sometimes what keeps a person sober
• Create the moments that make recovery worth celebrating: coffee socials, alumni dinners, milestone celebrations, sober outings, fitness and wellness activities, volunteer days, speaker events
• Build community partnerships that widen the circle of support
• Own the calendar, the budget, and the records, because follow-through is how trust is kept
• Hold strong professional boundaries and know when to elevate to clinical support

You might be our person if you:

• Have worked in a substance use disorder treatment or recovery setting (required)
• Bring 2-3+ years in recovery services, behavioral health, peer support, alumni programming, or community outreach
• Are warm, organized, assertive, and unafraid to pick up the phone first
• Plan great events and manage a calendar and budget
• Can work some evenings and weekends, travel locally, and hold a valid driver's license
• Bonus: community partnership experience; bachelor's in behavioral health, social work, human services, communications, or a related field
