Job summary

Suncrest Hospice is seeking a Director of Aide Services in Harmonville, PA. This role leads the aide team, oversees schedules, and ensures quality care in accordance with resident assessments and care plans under nursing management.

The ideal candidate holds RN licensure with at least one year of leadership experience and prefers hospice or CNA background. The position emphasizes staff development, policy enforcement, and patient privacy compliance in a growing organization.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • At least 1 year experience in leadership required.
  • Previous hospice experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a CNA preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use an electronic medical records system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership to our aide team; mentor and develop staff and provide ongoing training.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of aide staff; manage schedules with the aide coordinator.
  • Ensure all charting is completed by aides.
  • Implement policies and procedures for operations.
  • Support and build a diverse team delivering on objectives and goals.
  • Communicate clearly and establish relationships with team members to problem solve.
  • Document actions with forms, reports, logs and records.
  • Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and related laws.
  • Maintain licensure and participate in ongoing professional education.

The Director of Aide Services works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for assigning and overseeing aides, as they provide care to residents in accordance with resident assessments, care plans and as directed by nursing management. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide strong leadership to our aide team. Mentor and develop aide staff, provide ongoing training and education to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our aide staff. Responsible for overseeing the creation, management and maintenance of schedules for aides in conjunction with the aide coordinator
  • Ensure that charting is completed by all aides
  • Implement policies, procedures, and best practices for operations
  • Support, build, and sustain a diverse team who successfully and consistently deliver on objectives and goals
  • Ability to communicate clearly, establish and maintain effective relationships with team members to problem solve in an educational and cooperative manner
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Protect privacy and dignity by keeping patient information confidential; comply with HIPAA guidelines and related laws
  • Adhere to professional standards, company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; and maintaining licensure
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice with one year of experience under license
  • Current CPR Certification
  • At least 1 year experience in leadership required
  • Previous hospice experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a CNA preferred
  • Works well within a team environment to collaborate daily with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership.
  • Work closely with patients on a 1-1 level but get strong support from a patient care team.
  • Can work independently and on your own from a day-to-day basis with activities which include: phone, email and written communication, meetings with a variety of healthcare professionals, and an understanding of hospice rules and regulations.
  • Ability to learn an electronic medical records system.
