Job summary

The Director, Artificial Intelligence at Manulife will lead an AI team supporting the Long Term Care program in John Hancock and Manulife. Qualifications

• 8+ years in AI, data science, machine learning, analytics, software engineering, or related technical fields.
• 3+ years leading or managing technical teams, including Data Scientists and AI Engineers.
• Hands-on background as an individual contributor in AI or data science with production delivery.
• Strong knowledge of GenAI/LLMs, MLOps, and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of AI/ML/GenAI solutions for LTC business strategy.
• Develop and coach a team of AI engineers and data scientists with career development.
• Own complex AI initiatives from problem framing to deployment and value measurement.
• Identify high-value AI opportunities with stakeholders and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Oversee production AI services with cloud, CI/CD, monitoring, and governance.
