Job summary

Manulife and John Hancock seeks a Senior Data Scientist – GenAI in Boston to lead end-to-end design and deployment of AI solutions for LTC FWA analytics, merging traditional modeling with Generative AI and prompt engineering.

You will build modular RAG systems, fine-tune GPT models, and manage Azure deployments while translating fraud problems into scalable production applications. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to protect policyholders and improve operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or higher in a quantitative field as listed.
• 5+ years in probabilistic modeling, analytics, and ML with ML and generative AI focus.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face).

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end development of fraud detection and risk analytics models, including probabilistic models, anomaly detection, and ensemble approaches.
• Perform advanced modeling and AI analysis on large datasets to identify emerging fraud patterns and root causes.
• Develop, fine-tune, and deploy Generative AI models such as GPT and other architectures; manage cloud-based solutions for scalability and security.
• Build and optimize modular RAG systems and evaluate performance.
• Apply LLMs to parse complex documents and extract structured information from diverse layouts.
• Stay up-to-date with Generative AI advancements and cloud technologies to enhance data science capabilities.
• Collaborate with data engineers and ML engineers to integrate solutions into existing systems.
• Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Review work of other data scientists and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define business requirements.
