Job summary

RLI Insurance Company is seeking an Director, IT - AI to lead the enterprise AI strategy and governance. You will work with business and technology leaders to identify valuable AI opportunities, guide implementation, and ensure responsible, measurable outcomes.

You will build engagement with business areas, drive AI adoption, and lead AI engineers and professionals, delivering complex initiatives with cross-functional alignment and executive stakeholder support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in technology, AI, enterprise architecture, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading enterprise AI strategy, adoption programs, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Experience with generative AI, ML, cloud AI platforms, or related tech.
• People leadership experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, communicate, and execute the enterprise AI vision and roadmap.
• Build relationships across the org to identify AI opportunities and prioritize use cases.
• Establish goals, metrics, and reporting for AI adoption and value.
• Translate complex AI concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partner with architecture, data, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams on secure AI.
• Evaluate AI technologies and promote scalable, controlled solutions.
• Provide leadership across a portfolio of AI initiatives and manage staffing needs.
• Foster continuous learning in IT, AI, and enterprise contexts.
