Capital One is seeking a Director, AI Engineer to lead and scale responsible AI systems. This remote-eligible role centers on building and deploying AI Foundations and experiences, guiding governance, and shaping the enterprise AI roadmap.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE or related field plus 8+ years of AI/ML experience, or a Master's with 6+ years.
At least 3 years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components.
Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
Invent state-of-the-art foundation model optimization for performance, cost, latency, throughput.
Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems.
