Applied Resource Group is recruiting a Director of Software Engineering in the Atlanta area to lead a ~20-person team of engineers and contractors. The role balances hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, driving cloud-native modernization and AI-enabled software delivery.

The candidate will partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and executives to set architectural direction, ensure quality, and deliver scalable SaaS applications in a fast-growth enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 4+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Experience managing engineering organizations with employees and contractors.
• Proven ability to lead highly technical teams while staying technically credible.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~20 software engineers and contractors.
• Drive modernization focusing on cloud-native architecture, security, and performance.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and executives to align technology with business priorities.
• Champion CI/CD, automated testing, observability, reliability, and software quality.
• Own delivery execution across multiple engineering initiatives.
